Isabel’s work focuses on understanding the public health implications of abortion and contraception access through mixed-methods data analysis, policy research, and coalition activities. A Baltimore City native, Isabel worked with NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland in 2017 to investigate independent abortion providers’ issues with state Medicaid enrollment and reimbursement. Now, as an employee, Isabel’s main responsibilities at NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland include supporting the state’s independent abortion providers; educating Marylanders about the state’s abortion landscape, policies, and regulations while simultaneously fighting abortion stigma and disinformation; and, lobbying for reproductive justice legislation in the Maryland General Assembly. On the weekends, Isabel works as a counselor at an independent abortion clinic. Isabel holds a B.A. and MPH from the Brown University School of Public Health.
